Turning back time may not be impossible after all!  A groundbreaking study, conducted at Tufts University, is the first to demonstrate that Antioxidants not only retard the aging process, but may, in fact, reverse it.

This extraordinary study also revealed the most powerful Antioxidant – blueberries.  Just a 1/2 cup of blueberries each day can improve balance, coordination and short-term memory, while fighting diseases like Alzheimer’s, heart disease and cancer.  Blueberries outperformed other well-known Antioxidants including strawberries, spinach, kale and broccoli – they outperformed over 40 other fresh fruits and vegetables – a fact that researchers cannot yet explain.

Include fresh blueberries in your menu planning for great tasting, antioxidant-rich meals.
What to look for:  Fresh blueberries should be firm, dry and plump. Blueberries should be deep-purple, blue to blue-black.

But be careful. If berry containers have juice stains, it is a sign that the berries may have been crushed and could be moldy. Avoid soft, watery berries that are overripe; or dehydrated, wrinkled fruit that has been stored too long. Fresh blueberries should be stored covered in the refrigerator and washed just before using.
